Not bound by geography in any way, Alessandro has lived and worked in Italy, UK, Singapore and India. His particular fondness for Asian cinema that began with his thesis focusing on the relationship between Chinese and Western Cinema culminated in his Masters at London Film School. During his brief stint as a Video Producer on web commercials and viral content for brands such as Mondadori, Legambiente and 3M, under the production company TheBlinkFish in Milan, he doubled up as a location consultant and producer for independent European film productions. Alessandro then decided to focus on independent cinema and travelled extensively. He co-founded Draw4Films as an art collective to facilitate Asian and European collaboration. He was selected as part of the Producer's Lab in NFDC Goa Film Bazaar 2016. He produced the film supported by the Mutti award (2019) in Italy and is now developing a feature film.
After graduating from London Film School, Maaria continued working as a writer/producer for networks such as Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Fox. Her short films 'Aabida,' and 'Chudala' were screened and awarded at film festivals and acquired by Amazon Prime(US), IndieFlix, ShortsTV International and Tata Sky India. Maaria is an Asian Film Academy Fellow (Busan, 2016- recipient of Dongseo Scholarship as director) and attended Fajr Talent Campus in Iran, 2017(recipient of award for Best Story) among other labs. She was a delegate and jury member for Asia Peace Film Festival in Pakistan, supported by the UN. A special program dedicated to her short films was part of Ca Foscari Short Film Festival (2019) in Venice. She won the Mutti award with a grant by Cineteca di Bologna to make her next film in Italy, where she is based. Maaria has also been selected as an AFIS fellow(2021) in Korea where she will develop her next film and explore the future of Asian co-production. . Additionally, she curates film events and conducts workshops for upcoming talent in Asia.
